Silk Painting

Art making is the most joyful thing I do and brings meaning to my life.  But the road to that discovery was unexpected.  When I began my pre-med studies at the University of WA, I took up ceramics to keep me grounded during my demanding academic schedule. As I carved wheel thrown porcelain vessels and formed sculptural shamanic masks, something new began to awaken inside of me. I began to fantasize about being an artist instead of a doctor. When I finally picked up a paintbrush and created my first painting, I felt like a captive bird that had been set free and my soul began to sing.

I continued my intellectual pursuits alongside my artistic development. My interest in Eco Philosophy and the Science of Consciousness served as an inspirational foundation for my art making.  My philosophy is that Nature is the ground of our Being, and by immersing ourselves in Her Beauty one can experience directly the answers to many of the questions that philosophers contemplate.

I have been a professional artist for 30 years and have also made a living as a Healer, Body worker, Psychic, Astrologer, Visual Artist, Graphic artist, Web Designer, waitress, and most recently as a Kitchen & Bath Designer for Design & Build Firms.

My work has shown in several solo and group exhibitions throughout the West Coast of the USA, Hawaii and Ecuador.

I have traveled extensively to renew my passion for life and Art. However, I do believe that Sandpoint, Idaho will be the ground in which I extend deep roots and finally claim HOME.
